There was a post on the 2nd Trimester board earlier in the week from a woman who just found out she is having a boy. It basically went like this:
"I am so disappointed. I just don't think I'm going to be able to breastfeed him or change his diaper."
There was a lot more to the post but that's what stuck out in my mind. I can't cut & paste the entire post for you, because she ended up deleting it when people started making negative comments.
I am so sad for that poor little baby. He is going to have a mother who doesn't want to feed or change him simply because he has a penis. Is that not really messed up?
I understand having gender preferences, but it really makes me sad when people say they will be disappointed, sad, and/or have difficulty caring for their baby if it isn't the gender they wanted. It's not their baby's fault that it isn't the sex they wanted. I think it is so wrong to punish the baby for having a penis (or a vagina). You know what I mean :)
