Fill in the Blankie - Review & Giveaway! CLOSED

I was recently given the opportunity to customize a baby blanket for Carina from Fill in the Blankie, a maker of luxurious personalized baby blankets.  In all honesty, my first reaction was "we have enough blankets!"  Then, I checked out their website and could not believe how unique and special their blankets are.

Included in the blanket's price is embroidery around all four sides of the blanket (up to 200 characters).  You can have it spell out your baby's name and birth stats, a poem, baptism details, Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas...anything you'd like!  The Fill in the Blankie website even offers sentimental and inspiring suggestions based on the occasion.  You have your choice of 39 blanket styles and colors, 27 fonts, and 18 thread colors - some of which even glow in the dark.  Every blanket is 100% woven cotton trimmed with smooth satin.

After looking at all of the different options and styles I completely changed my tone; I needed one of these blankets!  I chose the Natalie's on Cloud Nine blanket in ballerina pink with ivory satin.  The minky/velour fabric just looked so warm and cozy.  Next, I selected a font I thought would look nice and a thread color to match the blanket, and then I was done; super easy.

I was impressed that our blanket arrived about a week after I placed my order.  In my experience, personalized products usually take a quite bit longer.  Wrapped perfectly and tied with a satin bow, seeing our blanket instantly put a smile on my face.  I teared up a little bit as I unfolded it (yes, I am a sentimental sap).  Here's what I had embroidered around the edges:

Love my blankie!
Side 1: Carina Shannyn G-
Side 2: December 28, 2010
Side 3: 6 lbs 14 oz and 19 inches long
Side 4: Madison, Wisconsin

As you can see, this is way more than a monogrammed baby blanket.  I love how soft, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind it is.  Carina loves it, too.  She has so much fun stroking it, petting it, even putting it in her mouth (ugh; I try to stop her when I see her doing this - silly girl).  Once we start letting her sleep with blankets in her crib, I imagine that she will enjoy sleeping with it as well.  I only wish it was a little bit bigger, so she could wrap it around herself fully.

Our blankie will be a wonderful heirloom for Carina to cherish and maybe even pass on to her children one day.  M and I have already decided that we will customize one of these adorable blankets for any other children we might have.

Starting at just $39, I would recommend Fill in the Blankie as a fantastic baby gift or birthday gift for anyone who enjoys soft, unique, and meaningful blankets (and don't we all?)
