Food my kid will actually eat: Ella's Kitchen - Review & Giveaway! CLOSED

It's no secret that we've struggled quite a bit with Carina's eating. She will try just about anything, but won't eat enough of it in order to pack on the pounds like most toddlers do. Finding snacks that can contribute significantly to her caloric intake has been a bit of a challenge, so I was excited to give Ella's Kitchen a try. Ella's Kitchen makes a wide range of organic food that takes your little one from their first solids all the way through toddlerhood.

More about Ella's Kitchen:
We passionately believe that Ella, along with the rest of her generation, should get the opportunity to eat better and healthy foods. This all came to pass when my daughter, Ella, was little and I was trying to find the perfect foods for her to eat  - healthy, delicious, & easy to pop into a backpack for our on-the-go lifestyle. I couldn’t find anything that fit this description, so my family and I went to work! We take a “kid’s view” when making all our products from the color, texture, and flavors. In fact, it was a child’s idea for the smoothie names – yellow one, red one – why not right? Makes sense in a kids world and that’s what we aim to do – make kids feel safe to try and enjoy healthy foods in a fun way!

We received a box of samples that included pouches of fruit & baby rice, baby food, smoothie fruits, first tastes, nibbly fingers, and cookies.

How did Carina like it? She housed almost all of it - and with impressive speed! The pouches were gone in minutes and she clamored for more when she was done with each one. After eating the nibbly fingers she actually said "yummy!" for the first time. The only item she wasn't a big fan of was the chicken casserole. Can't blame her; I guess I'm not sure how I would feel about meat in a pouch, myself ;)

The fact that each pouch houses 50-100 calories and she'll down it in under 5 minutes is huge for us. We ended up heading to the grocery store after it was all gone and stocked up on the smoothie fruits. I think they will become part of our regular snack rotation. Carina's favorite is the "purple one" (below).
