Blah news and a dirty mustache

It looks like M's testosterone is borderline. His doctor isn't worried, since it is technically in the normal range, but the problem with the testosterone reference range is that it isn't age-specific. This means that his testosterone level might be normal for an 80-year-old, but it isn't for a 26-year-old.

We're not going to worry about it for now. He doesn't have any low testosterone symptoms, thank goodness. He'll go in for an SA next week and then we'll re-evaluate. We're both still pretty down, though.

In other news, M's mustache competition for charity was last night. It was HILARIOUS. It was a bunch of drunk guys in costumes for a mock beauty pageant. There was a Mr. Potato Head (he won), Mario from Super Mario Bros., the Swedish Chef, etc. M went as a mafia member. He raised $500 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The grand total for all contestants was $4300!

I am so proud of his dirty 'stache.

Please cross your fingers for good results for M's SA.

Woot woot!

I am either 2dpo (days post ovulation) or 4dpo today...so I either ovulated the day before my anniversary, or the day after! Conceiving on/near our anniversary would be the coolest thing ever.

I've got my fingers crossed for a January 2011 baby. I was a January baby (1/3/1984), and I've always loved it.

I'm feeling hopeful this time around, and I've been praying a lot. M has a doctor's appointment tomorrow and will be asking about getting an SA. I told him that he doesn't actually have to get it done until after I get AF this cycle. I am hoping so hard that this cycle will be it, so he won't have to go through that...

Happy Anniversary to Us :)

We had such an amazing weekend. We arrived in the Wisconsin Dells on Friday around 5 PM, had a quick dinner and then explored the resort. We went on quite a few waterslides before we headed back to our room. *Edited because our parents are now reading this.

On Saturday we slept in, went on some waterslides, and then sat by the wave pool and relaxed for a while. The indoor wave pool had a roof made of some sort of material that actually let the sun shine in, it was awesome. We walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner. *Edited because our parents are now reading this.

Sunday, our actual anniversary, we did a few waterslides in the morning. *Edited because our parents are now reading this. Then we drove downtown and walked around the shops and the riverwalk, and then had dinner at a nice Italian restaurant. It was such a fantastic weekend. I am in such a great mood now.

I got a +OPK on Saturday, and I was hoping to O yesterday on my annivesary, no such luck though. Hopefully I'll have a temp spike tomorrow.

I feel re-energized!

My Mom came to visit this week. It was a last minute trip...when I called her crying about CD1 a week or so ago she knew that I needed her. She had a business trip this week and was connecting in Milwaukee on the way home. Instead of taking the return trip to Boston, she came to visit for a couple days, and headed home yesterday afternoon. On the way home from the airport she said she thinks we need to stop trying so hard. After I told her how ridiclous that statement was I said, "Mom, I don't need you to give me advice, I just want you to listen." She got the point.

We had such a great time. We went out to eat, went shopping, made dinner together, had a little too much wine, and went to the opera. Here we are

After she left yesterday I headed down to Chicago to have lunch with some of the Bump ladies! We went to PF Chang's in Schaumburg. I had never been before, it was really good. We forgot to take a picture, unfortunately.

Lastly, M's mustache has really filled in. He is participating in a fundraiser for charity. A bunch of guys grow a mustache for a month and then have a 'beauty pageant'. We went last year, it was really one of the funniest things I've ever seen. The fundraiser/event is for the Make a Wish Foundation. Here is me, M, and his mustache at the opera

Next weekend is our 1st anniversary. We'll be spending the weekend at a resort in the Wisconsin Dells. Can't wait!

Onto Cycle #8

After temp drops on Thursday and yesterday, I knew AF was on her way. She showed up very early this morning. As if that wasn't bad enough, I woke up in the middle of the night a few times and got sick. I couldn't really get to sleep until after 4 AM. I have no idea what caused it, but I'm a little concerned that I might be coming down with something given my enormous temp jump this morning.

I'm not as upset about CD1 as I thought I'd be. I think it might be because we have a plan going forward:

1. A few months ago my doctor told me I could bring in my charts at any time and she would take a look. I told her that it was too soon, but I'm beginning to think it might be time. Why not? Who knows, maybe she'll see something in my chart and want to do bloodwork, etc.

2. M has a yearly doctor's appointment on 4/22. He is going to tell his doctor that we've been trying unsuccessfully now for 7 months, and that we know I am ovulating and we are timing sex correctly. He is also going to mention the fact that he works with carcinogens and chemicals on a daily basis. Hopefully his doctor will recommend an SA at this point.

Wish us luck!
